TITLE:  Superfluous hair Removal (Depilatories)

OBJECTIVE/Specific Aim: At the end of this exercise trainees shall be able to

·         Carryout procedure of Client & trolley preparation.

·         Carry -out the procedure of patch test.

·         Prepare and use chemical agents

Day1

Prepare client and trolley for hair removal.

·         Seat the client comfortably.

·         Check the skin with naked eyes for any cut wounds abrasions etc.

·         Consult the client and fill the record card.

·         Remove the jewellery of the client and place it in the safer keep then in the view of client.

·         Assemble the trolley.

·         Wash and sanitize your hands before giving treatment.

Carry -out the procedure of patch test.

·         Clean the area when the patch test in to be alone.

·         Apply a small amount selected depilatory cream on client's skin.

Note:- Area's to be preferred for patch test are :-

1.     Inner fold of elbow.

2.     Behind the ear.

·         Leave it for 10-15min.

·         Remove the chemical and clean the area with tepid water.

·         Leave the particular area for 24hrs. to observe any reaction on it.

Prepare and use chemical agents

1.     Wash the skin and area of the body, to ensure that it is clean and free from dirt, oils and build up from moisturizers or creams.

2.     Apply the hair removal product to the area with unwanted hair coverage. The application is usually done with either a spatula, sponge or tool included with the hair removal cream, or manually by hand.

3.     After application, ensure hands are cleaned thoroughly so that product is not spread to incorrect areas.

4.     Wait the recommended amount of time to ensure effective removal. For the majority of products, this is between 5-15 minutes.

5.     Wash off or remove the product by either showering, or wiping off the cream with a damp cloth, or as advised by the product manual.
