Manchester United have finally signed Sofyan Amrabat on loan from Fiorentina after working together at Utrecht under Erik ten Hag. Amrabat will add vital bite to Manchester United's midfield.

Rob Holding recently made headlines when he completed his move from Crystal Palace to Crystal Palace while Joao Felix made headlines when he moved from Manchester City to Barcelona on deadline day. More announcements could follow soon on what promises to be another eventful transfer deadline day.

He is a defensive midfielder

Manchester United have finally reached an agreement to sign Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat after his impressive showing for Morocco at the 2022 World Cup. Multiple clubs had expressed an interest in him but Manchester United needed until the final hours of their transfer window closed before finding an arrangement that could satisfy both parties involved.
Amrabat ultimately joined on loan from Fiorentina at a fee of EUR10m with an option buy clause next year that could fetch EUR20 million more, which allows the club to meet Financial Fair Play rules without being forced into selling players outright for significant sums of money.

Amrabat will join Mason Mount, Rasmus Hojlund and Andre Onana at Old Trafford as an upgrade from Fred and adds more defensive depth. His high-energy style fits seamlessly with Erik ten Hag's system.

He is a target man

Manchester United may have left it late to acquire Sofyan Amrabat, but his arrival will provide them with an attack-minded midfielder. Amrabat was instrumental in Fiorentina reaching both the Europa League final and Coppa Italia final last season; additionally he contributed greatly for Morocco during their World Cup journey.

Amrabat's fearless and energetic style will serve him well at Old Trafford. Having barged over AC Milan's Zlatan Ibrahimovic during the Europa League final, his enthusiasm will prove beneficial here.

He could provide United with an upgrade on Fred, Scott McTominay and Donny van de Beek in midfield - though competition should remain stiff - after fulfilling all the major criteria United manager Erik ten Hag outlined when coaching Amrabat at Utrecht; having spent five seasons alongside Amrabat himself. And at an attractive loan fee plus potential option price of EUR10m plus potential renewal next summer it may prove an unmissable bargain!

He is a good passer

Sofyan Amrabat's signing as part of the Red Devils' deadline day deal from Fiorentina on loan until 2022 with an option to buy was a key move towards strengthening their midfield options. He helped Morocco reach the World Cup final before joining on loan for one season with an option to purchase at PS30 million next season.

United's director of football negotiations Matt Hargreaves made the trip to Florence to help complete this deal and Amrabat is expected to join his teammates shortly.

Amrabat's dedication and high-energy approach are ideal for the style of play Ten Hag intends to implement at Old Trafford. He previously worked with Ten Hag at Utrecht, so his arrival will give Old Trafford's midfield an additional dimension; while his passing skills will unlock defences and create goals - an invaluable asset in any midfielder.

He is a good finisher

Manchester United fans had long anticipated Sofyan Amrabat's signing from Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat since this summer; his presence was an asset for Morocco in Russia at the World Cup and Erik ten Hag had previously worked with him at Utrecht, making Amrabat an attractive acquisition target.
