I’m currently working on a final-year project focused on creating a line of modern evening wear that incorporates smart textiles—specifically fabrics that can change color or react to movement/light. I’ve been researching conductive threads, thermochromic materials, and Arduino-based sensors, but I’m still unsure how to practically integrate these components into garments without sacrificing elegance or wearability.

Has anyone here worked with smart textiles in formal or high-fashion garments? What are the biggest design or technical challenges I should anticipate (especially in terms of battery placement, washability, and weight distribution)?

Any insights, tips, or references would be hugely appreciated!
